Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Kannur University conducted an awareness programmes to the non-accredited institutions affiliated to Kannur University on 27th February, 2019, as the UGC envisages accreditation of every institutions in India with minimum score of 2.5 by 2022. The awareness programme was an effort to sensitize the institutions on issues of quality and importance of accreditations.
The participants of the workshop were Principals / representatives of the Principals and Senior faculty members of the non-accredited institutions affiliated to Kannur University. The Workshop was lead by Dr. Rajan Welukar, Former Vice Chancellor, Mumbai University and Dr. Vinita Sahu, Assistant advisor, NAAC.
The objectives of the workshop were:
1. To provide a clear picture about internal areas of planning and resource allocation.
2. To promote innovative and modern methods of teaching and learning.
3. To make the institutions aware of a new sense of direction and identity.
4. To provide an insight about the significance of maintaining quality in Higher Education Institutions.
5. To support the non accredited institutions in preparing themselves ready for academic auditing and evaluation by NAAC in near future.
6. To promote collaborations with other institutions to improve quality.
7. To inculcate a culture of proper documentation.
